Hooray
my dog, Zeus, has just celebrated his first birthday
If you are not into dogs, no worries…you can pass this post. No offence I was not like this till I got my own. My daughter Layla has been wanting to get a pet for years.
To be honest with you puppies are hard! Not sure how many times I thought about giving Zeus bak. (sorry!) but now we cannot imagine family life without him…
Mostly he eats foods that I put together. He is a food lover. I mean he has no standards…. He eats pretty much anything that I make, which is so great. (especially Layla was quite a fussy eater)
Here is a recipe for treats I made for him for his birthday
Banana, chia and spirulina cookie
you need:
2 tbs chia
1/2 cup rolled oats (preferably gluten free)
1/2 cup water
2 medium size banana
45ml coconut flour
direction:
soak chia seed and rolled oats in water. (I have left it over night to encourage sprouting process)
Place chopped banana, coconut flour and chia mixture in a food processor and process until it resembles a soft dough. You can either process this mixture with spirulina or it can be added later and mix lightly to give two colours.
place cookie sized mixture on a teflex sheet and dehydrate till desired texture.
As you can see the ingredients are perfectly human friendly and you can definitely share the treats with your furry friends 🙂
